Frequently Asked Questions
How do I install this app?
This is a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means you can install it on your phone or computer for a better experience.
- On Mobile (iOS/Android): Tap the "Share" button in your browser and then select "Add to Home Screen".
- On Desktop (Chrome/Edge): Look for an install icon in the address bar (usually on the right side) and click it.
How does the difficulty setting work?
You can change the difficulty (Beginner, Intermediate, Expert) for any exercise by clicking the three dots (⋯) next to it. This adjusts the complexity and intensity of that specific movement. Your choice is saved for that exercise going forward.
Do I have to do all the exercises?
No! The "Essentials" are the core part of the workout. The "Extras" are optional exercises you can do if you have more time and energy. The goal is consistency, not completing every single exercise every day. Listen to your body!
What are the flame icons (🔥) next to some exercises?
This is your "Myo-set" tracker! It helps you apply progressive overload to specific muscle groups. Each time you complete an exercise for a major muscle group, you add to its count. The flames indicate your current training phase for that muscle, encouraging you to push a little harder over time. After several phases, you'll see a 💤 icon, which is a reminder to give that muscle group a bit of a rest.
Can I exclude exercises?
Yes. In the settings, you can use "Daily Exclusions" to temporarily remove certain body parts or muscle groups from today's workout. For longer-term needs, like accommodating an injury, use "Permanent Exclusions" to always prevent those exercises from appearing.
Where is my data stored?
All of your workout progress, notes, and settings are stored directly in your web browser's local storage on your device. It is not sent to any server. This means you should use the "Backup & Restore" feature if you want to switch devices or prevent data loss.
Does this build muscle?
Yes, this is currently main purpose of snack.fitness. If you eat enough calories and protein and you are consistent and complete multiple workouts per week with high intensity, you can build muscle.
Does it help me lose fat?
No, not directly. These workouts don’t burn many calories, but this also shouldn’t be the goal of exercising on a diet. However, the workouts will help you maintain your hard earned muscle mass or maybe even help you gain some. Don’t forget your protein though!
